The whole family is delighted, heating the bath and preparing a meal, spared no effort in welcoming him. Terumasa keeps up his usual sour remarks, but with Chokkaku's mother he turns honest and open. Chokkaku is satisfied that they have grown close — but that night, gazing up at the moon, Terumasa wears a lonely look.
