In 1802, the Survey of India Institute launched the Great Trigonometrical Survey, a colossal undertaking aimed at precisely mapping British India from which the world became aware of the vast scale of the Himalayan range. From August to November 2024, using these historical maps, Jérémy Bigé makes his way on foot over 2,300km from Indian Kashmir to central Nepal. His goal: to connect the various Himalayan cultures in a single journey by following routes from the past.
